Minister Tang Renjian met with Carlos Fávaro, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil, in Beijing on Mar. 24, 2023. They exchanged views on furthering practical agricultural cooperation between China and Brazil.

Minister Tang noted that China and Brazil enjoy distinctive features in agriculture with strong complementarity, thus creating much room for bilateral agricultural cooperation. He encouraged the two sides to make full use of existing cooperation mechanisms. He also hoped that the two sides could intensify cooperation at various levels and in broad areas, particularly on trade and investment, the partnership between agricultural research institutes and market entities, biological breeding, green and low-carbon agriculture, digital agriculture and intelligent equipment, the pesticide industry, and global food and agricultural issues.

Minister Fávaro spoke highly of the achievements of bilateral agricultural cooperation. He agreed with Minister Tang on strengthening cooperation in areas of common concern, expressing the willingness to work with China to bring bilateral agricultural cooperation to a new high.
